How to Store Leftover Wine

I have a low tolerance to alcohol, but I like wine. I usually buy a bottle of wine and only drink a glass of wine. For the reason, I need to save leftover wine. Actually, after wine is opened, it is better to drink a whole bottle of wine because wine left goes bad. Leftover wine should be drunk as soon as possible because its scent and flavor are ruined compared to those of the first open wine.

If you want the unfinished wine to store, follow the steps below. Here is how to store leftover wine.
1. Re-cork and lay the wine on the side in order to prevent oxidization and spoilage of it; if the cork of wine is wet, it blocks oxygen penetration. However, if you store the wine upright, the cork is contracted and the wine absorbs the outside air. Finally, the wine is oxidized fast.  If you have a wine stopper, use it. However, it also doesn't prevent oxidization of wine completely.

2. Keep the wine in a dark place. However, if it is possible, avoid storing in a refrigerator; wine is sensitive to sunlight and vibration. Whenever the refrigerator is opened, the vibration is transferred to a bottle of wine.

3. If you have a small bottle, transfer leftover wine to it. It will help oxidization of wine slow down because of minimized airspace.
You can use leftover wine in a different way instead of drinking. When you cook fish or meat, add the wine. It is helpful in removing bad smell. Otherwise, when you take a bath, pour a cup of the leftover wine in a bathtub. It promotes the circulation of the blood.
